*SOON* Alfa Tango EU Contest


Standby Contesters for some frantic band action in the coming weeks as one of the hottest DX events on the 2008 calendar gets underway.
The world’s most famous DX Group, Alfa Tango, will launch into the first session of its immensely popular European Contest from 12.00 GMT on Saturday 19th April, to 12.00 GMT on Sunday 20th April.
Grippingly, the second session will be staged just 6 days later from 12.00 GMT on Saturday April 26 to 12.00 GMT on Sunday April 27 which is sure to keep every contest participant praying for some healthy openings to DXCC targets.

PARTICIPANTS
* All operators (AT group OR not) from European countries can participate by making contact with other European stations;
CATEGORIES
* Single and multi operators SSB (no more than three operators);
FREQUENCIES
* 11m excluding 100 KHz reserved for the activity DX (500-600);
EXCHANGE
* Call sign, RS and progressive number.
SCORING SYSTEM
* 1 point for every contact with stations of the own nation
* 2 points for every contact with stations joining the contest from other European countries
* 10 points for every contacted European country
Only QSO with operators that participate IN the contest will be valid (only one contact for each station participant is allowed)
* QSO with DX-expedition or S.E.S. will be not valid.
LOGS
* It is not necessary to use an official contest log; however, it will be possible to download the program that manages the European Contest at this URL http://www.atsicilia.org
* It is also possible to send papery or electronic log (Word, EXCEL or TXT) that must include the date of contact, call sign and progressive number given and received. The log and the summary sheet can be sent to the organisation board by the internet at the following e-mail address: europeancontest@atsicilia.org prior to May 27 2008 (final deadline);
DISQUALIFICATION
* Verification resulting in a percentage of error greater than 15% of the total declared connections leads to disqualification.
CLASSIFICATIONS
* At the end of the contest two separate continental classifications will be issued: - one for the category "single operator" and the other for the category "multi-operators"
PRIZES
* Cup and plates for the first 3 stations of the category ‘single’ and category ‘multi-operators’ to continental level (Europe) and award to the first three classified of every European nation.
The awarding of prizes will take place in the World Meeting in San Marino 2008;
