What Will the DX Landscape Look Like in 10 Years?

Communicating through radio waves with people all over the world is what Freeband radio communications is all about and what keeps many people hooked.
Finding that distant but recognisable signal buried in a sea of noise is the type of enjoyment of discovery unattainable from sending an instant e-mail overseas through the Internet.
What does the future hold for the hobby then as we move towards Cycle 24? What will the Freeband landscape look like in 10 years when the dust has settled on another explosion of HF DX activity?
