‘Islands On The Air’ (IOTA) DXing is one of the most exhilarating elements of eleven metre band communications. Whether you’re an ‘Island Hunter’ or ‘Chaser’, part of a DXpedition team activating an island, or holidaying with the YL on a small isle with radio gear in tow, IOTA operations represents an enormous challenge for the DXer—one that has transcended from the ranks of Amateur Radio to the Freeband scene more than a decade ago.
With this in mind, the Team from ‘11m DX Activities Oz’ are proud to bring you the first ever IOTA Directory for 11m DXers — one which also doubles as a Log Book for maintaining accurate records of your island contacts.
Wire bound with a glossy colour front and back cover, inside you will find fascinating Island DX adventure stories, information on a range of IOTA Events staged on 27MHz such as the ‘Oceania Contest’ and the World Wide Radio Organisation’s ‘Islands Festival’, as well as a comprehensive list of IOTA Awards available in the Freeband Community!
The Directory itself is divided into separate sections which cover main islands in Africa (AF), Antarctica (AN), Europe (EU), Asia (AS), North America (NA), South America (SA) and Oceania (OC). Due to their relevance to Australian based DX’ers and other neighbouring countries, there are also special subsections on New Caledonian (FK), Hawaiian (HI), French Polynesian (FO), Indonesian and Philippine Island groups, as well as complete listings of those islands located in Western Kiribati (224), Central Kiribati (265) and Eastern Kiribati (266).
At just $17AUS + postage (Cost only), we trust you will find this not-for-profit publication a useful resource for the radio shack, as well as a valuable accompaniment for your island DX work.
If you are interested in obtaining one of these fabulous IOTA Directories, then please let us know by replying to the topic or clicking on the 'contact admin' link and following the prompts.
