Double v Single QSL — The Verdict

At the time of penning this forum topic, 70% of Users on this site preferred double QSL cards over single ones in the most recent poll question (See right hand side of the page). That equates to approximately 35 out of every 50 Users or 70 out of every 100 if the pattern reads true… Obviously, this is a pretty overwhelming response in favour of the double card so I’m here to ask why?

Hands up who actually uses, or has used, a double QSL card? If you’re nodding your head, was it a personal card or a DXCC card? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I can’t think of one DX Group in Australia, or other countries for that matter, which uses a double QSL card as its standard DXCC card issue for members…

According to my records (which could be outdated), Thracian Rose, Fox Radio, Sugar Delta, Romeo Charlie, Alfa Tango, Tweed Radio, International Radio, Florida Alfa Tango, Sugar Papa and Delta Tango have all created single QSLs for 43 Division DXers. If 7 out of 10 DXers prefer double cards, why is this so? Why aren’t more groups using double QSL cards if that’s the preference of their members?

While still on the subject of double v single, if you were one of the 70% who indicated a preference for double QSL cards, what is it about them that tickles your fancy? What makes double QSL cards better than a single card and the preferred option amongst Freeband and Citizens Band DXers?

Furthermore, if you were one of the 30% who nominated single QSL cards as your preferred method of confirming contacts, why did you make your decision? Was it the simplicity of a single card, the cost effectiveness of having them printed or perhaps some other reason?
