Thanks Jos at Syncro
I have received and erected a Sirio Model 2016 5/8 vertical base antenna. I am delighted with this product and I want to record my thanks to Jos at Syncro for all the help he has given me with selecting this antenna as well advice on othermatters in an exchange of many emails some of which were far removed from radio matters! Clearly we both like to chat which is why I deserted ham radio some 15 years ago and came back to freeband.
Not much local activity heard, the usual truckies talking about their rigs, a few long established small groups of friends whom I am reluctant to break in upon, and the usual Indonesians mostly working in AM across 26 and 27 MHz.
Listening in on the latter can be quite atmospheric (not in the radio sense) as one may hear in the background kids playing, women calling out, dogs barking, and roosters crowing!
